CANDIDATE POLICY STATEMENT and CALL TO ACTION:
Support of, marketing of, endorsements of, and helping Democratic Candidates
It is the policy of a caucus charted under the Florida Democratic Party that it cannot and will not endorse candidates before local, state primaries and national party conventions are held and the Democratic candidate is nominated by the Democratic party. Freedom Democrats is a charted caucus under the state Florida Democratic Party.
Freedom Democrats do, however, want to keep all of our readers informed as early as possible of candidates running for office in hopes that it leads to:
A. Greater interest in candidates
B. Constructive political discourse
C. Opportunities to meet candidates
D. Opportunities to voice praise or concerns
E. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY…leads to more people being interested in the candidates, issues and the process so that they VOTE in the elections.
Freedom Democrats have received mails thanking us for reminding you of candidates and their fundraisers and events. Some people have asked us to cover “ALL” the candidates and their functions. We very much want to do this; we need your help.
To ensure that Freedom Democrats give fair and equal access to our weekly e-newsletter and website to list events for any and all Democratic Candidates we have done the following:
1. Updated the FRONT of http://www.freedomdems.org/ with candidates and contact data, that we know of to date.
2. Listed events we know of in the calendar section of the site
3. Sent out bi-weekly reminders of candidates and their events
4. Contacted all of the “announced” Presidential Candidates campaigns and asked for their calendar of events for South Florida
(SPECIAL NOTE: only Senator Barack Obama’s campaign returned the email as of today).
WE NEED YOUR HELP! Let the candidates, local, state, national you support know we are looking to help them in South Florida, for the aforementioned reasons.
